Augustus F. Brown and Albert J. A. Young, principals of the Law Firm of Brown,
Brown & Young, a Professional Association of Trial, Business and Personal
Lawyers, announce that, effective January 2, 2006, David E. Carey and
Jacqueline Anne Moore Delisle become principals in the firm.
Making the announcements, Augustus F. Brown said, "Dave Carey and Jacquie
Moore have served this firm and its clients for years, providing the best in
legal representation, and it is fitting that we recognize their achievements."
David E. Carey received his Bachelor of Arts in English from The College of
Wooster (Ohio), and his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of
Law in 1989, after which he served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert L.
Karwacki, then an Associate Judge of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.
He joined Brown, Brown & Young in 1990.
Mr. Carey was elected to the Town of Bel Air Board of Commissioners in 1997
and re-elected in 2001 and 2005. He also serves on the Legislative Committee
of the Maryland Municipal League and has testified before committees in both
the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates on issues affecting cities and
towns. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the
Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, the National Criminal Defense Attorneys
Association, and the American, Maryland and Harford County Bar Associations.
Mr. Carey is active in community affairs and served on the Futures Commission
of Harford County, the Greater Bel Air/Forest Hill Community Planning Council
and the Harford County Housing and Community Development Commission. He is
past Chair of the Town of Bel Air's Economic and Community Development
Commission and in 1994 was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to a
four-year term on the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Mr. Carey's areas of the practice include Civil and Business Litigation,
Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Appeals to All Courts.
Jacqueline Anne Moore Delisle joined the firm in 1999. She is a graduate of
Bel Air High School, and received her Bachelors of Arts degree in history from
Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College. She earned her law degree from
the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1983 and subsequently served as
Law Clerk to the late E.O. Weant, Jr., Associate Judge of the Court of Special
Appeals of Maryland.
Prior to joining Brown, Brown & Young, she was associated with the firm of
Love, Fleming and Bearsch, LLC, of Bel Air, Maryland. Ms. Delisle also served
as an Assistant Harford County Attorney for the Departments of Planning and
Zoning and Human Resources and as an Assistant State's Attorney for Harford
County. She is a member of the American, Maryland State and Harford County Bar
Associations.
Ms. Delisle's areas of practice include Commercial and Residential Real
Estate, Land Use, Land Use, Business Litigation, Corporate and Business Law
and Estate Planning and Administration.
