Recently, Brown, Brown & Young was presented with the unique
opportunity to have Douglas R. Cain, a very experienced and
successful trial attorney in Cecil County, join us "of Counsel."
Doug has decided to seek a slightly different pace than the one he
has chosen over the last 25 years, and we have agreed to undertake
the full time continuation of his practice, with his help.
Therefore, on October 1, 2005 Brown, Brown & Young officially adds
to its Bel Air offices a practice of law at 212 East Main Street,
Elkton, Maryland (410-392-3900).
This firm has served Cecil County and its residents ever since my
grandfather A. Freeborn Brown, Jr., began his career as a trial
lawyer in 1901. Since my family is from Havre de Grace, and because
many of our current clients live or work in Cecil County, this
expansion will continue to foster our already-existing close ties
to the northeast corner of Maryland.
All of Doug's staff have agreed to stay on with us so that our
transition will be smooth. They are a wonderful group of employees
and we are most grateful for their decisions to remain. Our intent
is for Jay Young or me to be in our Elkton office three days a
week, and to have our other attorneys there the other 2 days. Doug
will still be trying cases, but his load will lighten in the winter
(only).
