BRAC Opportunities Await Your Business
After the events of September 11, 2001, the Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) changed its focus to put national defense, homeland security and counter-terrorism as number one in priority. The result was that BRAC identified Aberdeen in Harford County as an ideal location for the relocation and the establishment of new facilities for homeland security, national defense and counter-terrorism. Thanks to BRAC, three BILLION dollars worth of new construction is slated to occur on the Post in the next six or seven years -- building as much as three MILLION new square feet!
Brown, Brown & Young recommends that you consider the implications of economic expansion in a personal business sense. What chances exist for your business to benefit and profit from this development? What tremendous opportunities present themselves to the local business community?
Every government job moved to APG or created there could result in an exponential number of other jobs created in private industries that directly serve APG. And as the population grows, so grows the service industry as well. Current conservative projections indicate annual expenditures of ten billion dollars in APG research and development projects alone as a result of BRAC recommendations, and more governmental and non-governmental projects are planned.

To help you take advantage of the opportunities afforded by BRAC, you should contact Albert J. A. "Jay" Young. Jay Young has established ties with Harford and regional government, decision-makers, and the overall community, and is widely recognized as an expert in land use, zoning, development, and in-depth understanding of the total "BRAC picture."
